Our history
Moar & Butler came into existence during the early 1900s here in Widnes. It was started by two brothers, Thomas and Robert Butler, who traded as T & R Butler.
The business quickly expanded with an office in Bold Street (the horses were kept over the road in Lacey Street). During the 1950s, the business was bought by the Moar family and renamed Moar & Butler.
For nearly 50 years, we’ve been part of Craven, the largest independent funeral providers in Merseyside and North Cheshire.
Our quality
Both of our premises in Widnes (Dickson Street and Hough Green) are furnished to meet the high standards you’d expect. We’re equally proud of our fleet of limousines because we only purchase state-of-the-art new vehicles and continually update and maintain them. That means you can always rely on the quality of the vehicles that we use.
